Dr. Dana Fender Dr. Dana Fender's family are natives of South Georgia, and he is proud to serve patients in the Douglas, Baxley and Tifton areas. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia Dental School and did his graduate orthodontic training at Vanderbilt University. A devoted husband and father, he is a very "hands-on" dad to Austin and Andrew, and their newest addition, Evan. You will often see him at the boys' ball games or other school activities with his wife, Hope. He is also passionate about hunting and the outdoors. Dr. Fender's faith plays a central role in his life, and he has had the opportunity to be part of several foreign mission teams, providing dental care to people in developing countries such as Nicaragua, Venezuela, and the Ukraine. Dr. Gregory Goggans Dr. Gregory Goggans was born and raised in South Georgia and is a proud graduate of our public schools, ABAC and the University of Georgia. He received his orthodontic and dental training education from the Medical College of Georgia and orthodontic specialty training from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Goggans has operated a successful practice in Coffee County since 1986, receiving many awards, and is highly recognized for his service. Dr. Goggans now enjoys seeing his patients from the Douglas, Baxley and Tifton offices. Dr. Goggans is also a leader in his community and a dedicated volunteer. He has been recognized numerous times for his leadership to his community. Some of these honors include: Rotarian of the Year, Will Watt Fellow, Paul Harris Fellow, Book of Golden Deeds Award, and Chamber of Commerce Small Businessman of the Year. Dr. Goggans has served on many local and state boards and presently serves as one of the Owners and Directors of Douglas National Bank. Dr. Goggans was elected to the Georgia State Senate from the 7th District in 2004. He currently serves as the Georgia Republican Senatorial Trust and Appropriations Chairman for the Department of Community Health, and is the Secretary of Health and Human Services. In addition, Dr. Goggans also serves on the following committees: Banks and Banking, Transportation, Finance, Ag and Consumer Affairs, Fiscal Affairs, Government Oversight, and One Georgia Oversight. As a legislator he has received many honors including: Legislator of the Year by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Legislator of the Year by the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities, Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Dental Association, Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Association of Primary Health Care, The ARC of Georgia Legislator of the Year, The Star of Life Legislative Award from the Georgia Association of Emergency Medical Services, and the Distinguished Service Award from the Georgia Hospital Association. Dr. Goggans and his wife, Jane, have been married for over 28 years and have four children. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Douglas. They are actively involved in many causes including children’s summer camps, local athletic teams and missionary work. |
